Can a young worker join the trade union?

Grigori Reznichenko ::: Young people in the USSR. Answers to questions

There is nothing to stop him. In the Soviet Union every industrial or office worker, every student at a university, college or specialised secondary educational establishment can join the trade union. This also applies to pupils of vocational and trade schools over the age of 15. The procedure is simple-an application in writing to the local branch.

The unions have a membership of 121 million. Of this number 64 million are under the age of 30.
